First Promo Game&Watch from the Panorama Screen Series!
A few days ago, a collector discovered and bought a Promo Game&Watch from the Panorama Screen Series. It’s the first known Promo Game of the Panorama Screen Series ever!
The imprint shows the logo of the company Agfa. This company mainly is known for developing, manufacturing and distributing analogue and digital imaging products and systems.
Thanks a lot to our member bmogeda for the information and for the pictures.
New Promo Game&Watch "Phosphatine"
Recently a new promotional Gam&Watch game was discovered. It’s a Parachute that has the brand Phosphatine imprinted.
Phosphatine is a food based on cereals, especially for infants. It is produced by the company Blédina, which belongs to the Nestlé group. The game comes from a sales representative who sold Phosphatine over 30 years ago.
Game&Watch Promo "Coral" Rain Shower sold for over 2'000 Euro!
On November 21st, a super rare Rain Shower with the brand name of "Coral" imprinted on the front of the game was sold on ebay for EUR 2'300! Perhaps the most expensive promo Game&Watch so far.
Game&Watch Discovery of the Year!
Collectors of Game&Watch very well know the colorful Pocketsize Games that were released in the USA and Canada. And collectors know the nice carded Games as well. But up until now, no one ever has seen a carded Pocketsize Game! Our member Ash888 made the discovery of the year – a carded Pocketsize Snoopy Tennis SP-30 from the Wide Screen Series! An incredible find!
Ash actually owns this game now. He bought it a few weeks ago off a seller from the USA. Unfortunately the seller didn’t tell (or know?) anything further about this rare piece of Game&Watch history.
How many more carded Pocketsize Games are out there...?
See Ash’s post in the forum

New Game&Watch Promo "Lord Extra"
The series of special promotional games is extended by another game. On February 22nd, a tricOtronic Achtung Graben (Manhole) of the Gold Series was on ebay.
The extra outer cardboard is an advert for tobacco, precisely for Lord Extra cigarettes. This Promo clearly comes from Germany, because it’s a tricOtronic game and because Lord Extra is a German cigarette brand.
Unfortunately, the seller could not provide any further information about this promo. He bought the game on ebay himself a while ago.

Bienengräber catalogue
A very rare find changed ownership last December: A catalog from the company Bienengräber. This over 25 pages strong catalog was given away by the company Bienengräber to their dealers. In the 80s, Bienengräber was the first Nintendo distributor in Germany.
Besides many Game&Watch games, the catalog also contains pictures and information of many other LCD games from that time.
The seller Frank Waligorski informed me, that he probably received the catalog in the 80s in a toyshop in Reutlingen. He still was a child by that time and he liked to have a Game&Watch game.
The final price of EUR 166.99 shows how rare and popular items related to Game&Watch are.

Many thanks to Frank Waligorski and to our member tille for the information and for the cooperation!
Promo Game Snoopy Tennis Candia
Once again, a new version of promo Game&Watch was found. A collector was lucky enough to get the game. It’s a Snoopy Tennis of the Wide Screen series. The game has the logo of Candia imprint on its front. It was previously known, that Candia is on Popeye and Mickey Mouse, both from the Screen Wide series. And now on Snoopy Tennis as well.
Promotional version Rain Shower Coral
Game&Watch still is good for surprises!
Our FAQ about promotional Game&Watch Games (this are games having an additional company logo imprinted, on behalf of companies) counted 44 different Promo Games so far.
Now the 45th Game has joined the list: Rain Shower LP-57 holding the logo of Coral. It's the first Promo Rain Shower Game and it even comes with the very rare J.i21 box.
An extremely rare item that was discovered by a collector on a garage sale.

New Book: Before Mario
Until the 1960s, Nintendo was a modestly successful company, which manufactured playing cards for the local Japanese market. Fast forward 25 years and Nintendo has become a world leader in electronic entertainment. How did this miraculous transformation come about? BEFORE MARIO will answer that question, through a richly illustrated overview of over fifty Nintendo toys and games, that represent this crucial period in the company's history (1965 to 1983). Some of these toys appear here in print for the very first time. Together they show the path that Nintendo traversed, as it evolved into one of Japan's most admired and valuable companies.Written by Erik VOSKUIL, owner the world's largest private collection of Nintendo products from the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, with a foreword by Satoru OKADA, one of the geniuses in Nintendo's first game design team and later manager of the
R&D department, (co)designer of many of Nintendo's games and toys, including Game & Watch, Metroid and the Game Boy.
